I fotografi sono spesso descritti come cacciatori o pescatori. Un buon fotografo deve sapere come essere entrambi e quando applicare questi approcci in una scena di street photography. Il lavoro di Phil Penman comprende spesso paesaggi urbani, la cattura di istanti spontanei e ritratti di strada. Questo workshop vi aiuterà a diventare fotografi più completi ed efficaci, in grado di affrontare qualsiasi situazione.
Phil vi mostrerà l'intero suo processo, dalla ricerca dei soggetti all'utilizzo della composizione e della luce per valorizzarli e trarre il massimo da una scena. Vi guiderà poi nel suo processo di editing.
Percorrerete i luoghi iconici di Venezia insieme a Phil Penman e alla Leica Akademie. Phil vi mostrerà il suo modo di lavorare e di osservare ciò che lo circonda.
PROGRAMMA
Giorno 1
08:00 – 09:00
Introduzione e distribuzione attrezzatura
Accoglienza dei partecipanti, presentazione delle fotocamere e del materiale in prestito. Phil illustrerà le basi del funzionamento delle macchine fotografiche e fornirà consigli pratici per affrontare la giornata di scatti con maggiore consapevolezza. Lo staff del Leica Store sarà presente per fornire supporto tecnico e assistenza durante la preparazione.
09:00 – 12:00
Sessione di scatto sul campo
Uscita fotografica accompagnata da Phil, che guiderà i partecipanti nel cuore della città. Sarà l'occasione per osservare, imparare e mettere in pratica tecniche di street photography, catturando momenti autentici e scene di vita quotidiana.
12:00 – 14:00
Pausa pranzo
Tempo libero per pranzare e ricaricare le energie. Un momento ideale anche per confrontarsi con gli altri partecipanti.
14:00 – 16:00
Sessione di editing
Phil mostrerà il proprio flusso di lavoro, spiegando come selezionare e valutare le immagini scattate. I partecipanti avranno la possibilità di lavorare sui propri scatti, imparando a selezionare le immagini e a sviluppare un occhio critico. Anche in questa fase lo staff del Leica sarà disponibile per offrire supporto tecnico.

Un'occasione conviviale per continuare a conoscersi e discutere di fotografia in un'atmosfera informale.

Attrezzatura: fotocamere Leica
A tutti i partecipanti sarà fornita una fotocamera Leica, secondo disponibilità, completa di obiettivo da utilizzare per il workshop. Per tutta la durata del Workshop, Leica Akademie Italy metterà a disposizione una Leica M o Q.
Attrezzatura richiesta
Si consiglia di portare un computer portatile per la revisione delle immagini e un taccuino o tablet per prendere appunti. La fotocamera sarà fornita da Leica, quindi non è necessario portare la propria, a meno che non si tratti di una Leica.
Livello fotografico
È consigliato conoscere già le nozioni di tempi, diaframma e iso.

Please note: this Masterclass will be held in English.
Photographers are often described as hunters or fishermen. A good photographer needs to know how to be both, and when to apply these approaches in a street photography scene. Phil Penman's work often encompasses urban landscapes, the capture of spontaneous moments, and street portraits. This workshop will help you become a more complete and effective photographer, capable of handling any situation.
Phil will show you his entire process, from finding subjects to using composition and light to enhance them and get the most out of a scene. He will then guide you through his editing process.
You will walk the iconic locations of Venice alongside Phil Penman and Leica Akademie. Phil will show you his way of working and observing what surrounds him.
SCHEDULE
Day 1
08:00 – 09:00
Introduction and equipment distribution
Welcome of participants, presentation of cameras and loan equipment. Phil will cover the basics of how the cameras work and provide practical tips to approach the shooting day with greater awareness. The Leica Store staff will be on hand to provide technical support and assistance during preparation.
09:00 – 12:00
Field shooting session
A photography outing led by Phil, who will guide participants through the heart of the city. This will be an opportunity to observe, learn and practice street photography techniques, capturing authentic moments and scenes of daily life.
12:00 – 14:00
Lunch break
Free time to have lunch and recharge. Also an ideal moment to connect with fellow participants.
14:00 – 16:00
Editing session
Phil will walk you through his workflow, explaining how to select and evaluate the images taken. Participants will have the opportunity to work on their own shots, learning how to edit and develop a critical eye. The Leica staff will also be available during this session to offer technical support.

A social occasion to continue getting to know each other and discuss photography in an informal setting.

Equipment: Leica cameras
All participants will be provided with a Leica camera, subject to availability, complete with lens for use during the workshop. For the entire duration of the Workshop, Leica Akademie Italy will make available a Leica M or Q.
Required equipment
Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop for image review and a notebook or tablet for taking notes. The camera will be provided by Leica, so there is no need to bring your own, unless it is a Leica.
Photography level
A working knowledge of shutter speed, aperture, and ISO is recommended.
Accommodation
Travel to and from the venue, meals, and accommodation are not included in the participation fee.
